What you should know about Chiang Mai including where to stay, the neighborhoods, apartments, tours, temples and nightlife. This is coming from a person that’s lived there as a digital nomad, not just a tourist.
Chiang Rai is not just about temples. It’s a town inspiring of Buddhism and its beautiful temples.
Sure it’s full of digital nomads, tourists, and locals but I really like to learn about the meaning of sculptures and why they were build. Have you wondered why Thai people are peaceful and kind?
Because of Buddhistm and its temples
When I first arrived, I was engulfed by the heat reaching 100 Fahrenheit or 40 celcius. I stayed in old town which you can clearly identify on the map as the square that’s surrounded by a moat and remnants of the walled gates.
Chiang Mai is the proximity to the airport it’s only a 15 minute ride to Old City where most tourists stay. It’s very walk-able although it is quite big and outside this area you need to rent a scooter because you’re gonna have to walk long distances in the scorching heat.
